The Printmaking Collective heavily focuses on relief printing—the process of carving away at the surface of material to reveal an image. In this class we will spend two months learning the hands-on craft of linoleum block printing. Students will learn how to carve and print by hand, as well as color theory and mixing. This collective is an invitation to slow down, to give into the process of learning, and enjoy the patience and perseverance it affords. We will stretch you to develop a visual language with the Trinity that could not otherwise be communicated in words. Students will learn to own their unique creative expression and connect to God in the process.

In this collective we will explore the wonder of our Creator and our creative identity through music. We will follow rhythms of inspiration, cultivation, and celebration. Classes will include: Inspiring times of teaching and impartation, intentional listening exercises, group singing, songwriting prompts, constructive feedback and encouragement. 

In this year's music collective, each student will be given hands-on experience and time exploring the basic elements of music and song, as well as writing and sharing their own songs. Each student will receive helpful input and feedback from our teachers in this class. Our goal is for everyone to leave feeling confident and full of joy in their relationship with music, and empowered to continue a life of ownership and cultivation.

*Requirements:  You must currently be cultivating music on an instrument as well as singing, to aid and accompany yourself in songwriting. You must also have a desire to learn and grow in songwriting. To be considered for this class, you must submit a video of yourself singing and playing either an original or cover song of your choice. This needs to be a new video that you record, not one from a past performance or recording. Please include your video as an Unlisted Youtube link in the space provided on the Collective Choices Form.

In this collective, students will be empowered to use their own unique perspective to capture the beauty of the world around them through the basic techniques of black and white photography.  Students will learn exposure, composition, how to fully process film and how to print photo enlargements.  This class will reveal the value of the way each student sees and will also reveal the significance of the way they see beauty in each other.  

Photographs have the power to tell a story without words, to capture memories that could be lost in time, and to store away the moments that mean the most to us. This class is for students who desire to slow down through a patient process and capture moments in life they can look back on for years to come, remember their story, and discover a new way to share it with others.

This collective is a dive into creative expression of physical movement. Focusing on students’ natural tendencies, each student will learn basic modern dance technique, and strengthening exercises to equip your body to carry story and find your authentic voice within the language of dance. 

In dance there is nothing between you and the expression: no paint brush to hold, no guitar or piano to stand behind, no notebook to read from. Your body is the canvas, it is the instrument being played, it is the words being spoken. This class is for students who are open to taking risks, ready to push themselves physically to become strong, and to have a lot of fun. 

No previous dance training is required, however, if you have received training please include what type of dance and how many years you have pursued it.

In this collective, students will be empowered to value the work of their hands through the process of pottery. During the two month period, we will introduce throwing on the wheel as well as the process of trimming, glazing, and simple hand building techniques. Pottery is a craft that invites students to slow down and trust their hands and hearts, engaging feeling rather than relying on thinking. Through this ancient art form, each student will be invited to learn how clay mirrors our own hearts as well as mirroring the Father’s heart towards us. We will teach you how to stay connected to your heart and the Lord in the beauty and tension of learning something new.

Taught by Ike Huffman and Kyle Kiser

In this collective, students will learn to step into the pace of humility and enjoy the steady rhythm of leather working. Students will learn basic hand stitching, leather care, and how to remain strong and soft in their hearts and with their hands while they make leather bound books and create other various leather forms. This collective unites craft with concept and students will be challenged to include their authentic creative perspectives into each project throughout the two month period. As they learn how to work with a material made to endure a lifetime, they too will discover what the Father is building in their hearts that is meant to last a lifetime.
